Dupped as the King of Amapiano, DJ Maphorisa has teased the world with his new project with Nigerian Afro-pop superstar WizKid.

He shared a studio session whilst vibing to their latest project. WizKid was singing along with Phori on the mixer.

DJ Maphorisa and WizKid’s new studio session project floods social media

In recent years the two have fast become Africa’s finest. The celebrated Nigerian musician WizKid has been making all sorts of headlines, from Grammy Awards to 5-star performances. However, on the other hand, DJ Maphorisa has fast become the most sort after DJ after pioneering the Amapiano genre to the world with Kabza de Small. The two have produced smash hits such as Adiwele, Izolo and Lorch.

The Rise of Maphorisa to fame

He had his shot to fame when he was still part of Uhuru. His flair saw him producing one of Davido’s smash hits, The Sound. In 2013 he hogged the headlines when he featured in Mafikizolo’s 2013 smash hit, Khona. Of interest is the fact that he co-produced the track too.

Uhuru worked with celebrated DJ’s likes Oskido, Professor, and DJ Buckz. In 2016 Maphorisa worked on the smash hit One Dance ft, and Wizkid and Kayla and Maphorisa was the face of the group which was thrust into the international stardom. Since then, he has been winning big.
