Cassper Nyovest mourned and paid tribute to the late Mashata who was killed on Sunday morning.
The famous DJ and comedian was driving a car on his way back from a gig on Sunday morning when unknown gunmen attacked and rained bullets on the DJ.
The family confirmed his death and investigation has reportedly began.
Taking to Twitter, Nyovest said he is saddened by the news.
“Rest In Peace Mashata bra yaka. You were such a gentle, genuine guy. Sad news,” he wrote.
The rapper further revealed that he doesn’t find staying outside fun again due to the insecurities.
“We are only safe in God’s hands. South Africa is lawless. It’s so sad to see what our country has become. It’s not even fun anymore to be outside nje. Id rather watch a movie.”
Meanwhile, it was reported that Mashata was a friend to the late DJ Sumbody who was also killed after a gig by unknown gunmen.
