Bongani ‘Thulani Mtsweni’s salary revealed

Thulani Mtsweni plays the role of Bongani on . On the Mzansi Magic telenovela, Thulani is nicknamed Bongani wama Grocery due to his role in making sure his lover is provided for. The Bongani character is a Shisanyama owner in a relationship with Mzozozo (Sannah Mchunu).

Bongani and Zodwa's relationship had its fair share of problems, the baby daddy and child problems. It took a while for Zodwa's overprotective teenage son Teddy (Sicelo Buthelezi) to understand Bongani's intentions towards his mother and to have another male figure in their life.

Bongani's main problem was (Israel Matseke Zulu), Zodwa's baby daddy. Competition for Zodwa's heart sparked physical and war of words between the two. Despite Bongani once offering a job at his Shisanyama, the ungrateful turned to his criminal ways for a living. At one point, sends gun-welding burglars Sdumo and Brains to evade and threaten his family to prove a point of how weak Bongani is.

Despite Zodwa's unfair treatment towards Bongani, he always forgives and forgets and vows to provide and love Mzozozo.

Thulani is a late bloomer who arrived on our screens in 2015 at the age of forty-seven. Over the years, he has suffered rejection by mainstream acting producers, which restricted him to high school and college plays.

His major television breakthrough came in 2017 when he bagged a role on Isidingo, where he played Shadrack Bhekiziswe Sibiya, a miner who always courts trouble. Over his acting career, he played Mpihlangene Zungu on Isibaya and featured on etv's Rhythm City, where he played the role of an abducted boy.

Despite arriving late on mainstream soapies, Thulani is covering lost ground by playing Bongani on ; he became an instant hit and fan favorite in a few episodes after his introduction. On , he earns an average of R57 000 per month, higher than average salary of R31 500.
