Early life

She was born on June 10 and is the youngest of nine children (six brothers and two sisters). Her father was killed in an accident when she was 15 years old, and her mother is a retired nurse. She also had to grow up with a single mother as a result of the death of her father. Her mother, however, did all possible to make sure she was clothed and fed.

Education

Semoko continued her education at the University of the Witwatersrand to earn a BA Hons Degree in Dramatic Arts and a Diploma in Photography after completing her studies at Lofentse Girls High School in Orlando East, Gauteng.

Former Isidingo actress and now Skeem Saam producer Keketso Semoko who is in her fifties says that marriage was something that didn’t happen to her because it wasn’t for her.

Keketso says she didn’t get married, not because she didn’t want but the ‘blessing’ of marriage wasn’t for her. “Marriage wasn’t my blessing. I am the only who is not married in my family.” Keketso said while speaking to Anele Mdoda on Real Talk with Anele.

Keketso said as much as she is not married at home with her siblings and family she is the one who always has had the task of keeping her family together and keeping things going, even if she is the youngest.

Career in Theater of Keketso Semoko

She made her stage debut in Maishe Maponya’s production of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun. She has also appeared in a workshop version of The Hottentot Venus and George Wolfe’s The Colored Museum. In which she portrayed the young Khoi girl who suffered tragically, Sartjie Baartman. Sezar, who was portrayed as a weirdo throughout France. This was presented in the Oxford Playhouse in Britain as well as the Market Theatre in South Africa.

Career in Television of Keketso Semoko

She has made cameo appearances in the television programs Young Justice and Justice for All as well as the comedy Going Up. Among them are the films Drum (2002), Mr. Bones (2001), A Reasonable Man (1999), Dr. Lucille Teasdale, a Canadian/South African co-production, and An African Story by Jason Xenopoulos. She then portrayed Mooma Tuussee in the 2004 made-for-TV movie King Solomon’s Mines, which starred Patrick Swayze.

In July 1998, three months after the show’s debut, Keketso started portraying the main character in the soap opera Isidingo. She won the 2007 SAFTA award for Best Actress in a TV Soap for playing Ma Agnes Matabane.

More TV career

In the 2008 feature film The Seven of Daran: Battle of Pareo Rock, she had an appearance. She cites Mary Twala, Nomhle Nkonyeni, Cicely Tyson, Sydney Poitier, and Morgan Freeman as some of the people who have most impacted her.

She and Generations actress Connie Ferguson shared the same birthday. As a producer and writer, Keketso contributes to the Ulwazi Educational Radio Project. Isidingo was deserted by Ketetso in August 2014. She played Ma Agnes Matabane, the last member of the Matabane family to leave the serial opera. Her farewell broadcast aired on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, a holiday.

Height

Her agency states that she is 1.72 meters (172 cm) tall. Yet, given how short she appears in movies, this number may be a little improbable.
