The Queen Actor ‘Hector Sebata’ Rapulana Seiphemo is a Lecturer in real life

rose to fame when he landed the role of Godlieb Mofokeng on SABC 3 soapie Isidingo in 1998. After being on the show for three years, his character then left the series.

However, before he started on the path to be an international actor, the man had a completely different life altogether. is a Lecturer in real life, and he even used to practise before he got his big break on screens.


got his big break in acting when he was 29 years old. However, before the breakout role, the entertainer had a thriving career in education. The entertainer was a lecturer at Fuba Academy for some time while also doing part-time tutoring at Wits University. This was all in 1997 before he started auditioning as an actor for Television shows.

After leaving Isidingo in 2001, Rapulana never looked back again and continued to thrive as an actor. Rapulana had enrolled at Texas A&M University in the USA, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts. He focused on Theatre production, Psychology, Sociology, English, and Acting in his studies.

The Queen actor 's acting career


Rapulana has been in several theatre productions since 1991, including The Merchant of Venice and The Blacks. In 1995 he landed a minor role in a TV documentary drama called Rhythm and Rights, where he worked with the famous director Oliver Schmidt. However, that was not the end of their working relationship, as later, they worked on a film together called Highjack Stories.


Seiphemo was part of the Oscar-winning South African drama cast, Tsotsi playing John Dube. His longest-running character on Television was on Generations which he held for 26 years till he was written off and officially bowed down in 2020.

In the meantime, he was also gracing local television drama screens with roles in Muvhango, Generations and currently The Queen.

His exit from Generations-The Legacy was controversial as the actor was rumoured to have left the soapie before his contract ended. Rapulana left the SABC 1 soapie to join the Ferguson Films drama series, The Queen, where he is currently slaying the role of Hector.
