Best known for his on-screen characterLeeto Maputla, Eric Macheru is a celebrated South African actor who plays a lead role in SABC1’s drama series Skeem Saam.

No doubt he is that star actor we all love to hate. Of late, he has been making all sorts of headlines for the wrong reasons. A few weeks ago, he hogged the headlines for the wrong reasons when a viral video of him drunk flooded social media. However, to make matters worse, he was not only drunk but rammed into someone’s car and fled the scene of the accident.

However, since his thrust into the limelight, he has been winning big, but Mzansi has been connecting the dots on his road to fame.

Well, just like those before him, he discovered his craze for acting whilst young. To furnish his talent, he enrolled on acting classes. Soon after matriculating, he bags a degree in Acting Film with AFDA. Currently, he is furthering his studies.

From there, the seasoned actor has been winning big. He debuted on small screens when featured in iNkaba, a Mzansi Magic telenovela. In the drama series, he played the on-screen character of Rick. In the backdrop of his iNkaba gig, he landed a gig on Mfolozi street season 1 as Msindo.

A few months down the line, he was cast in Zaziwa season 4 before bagging a lead role on Skeem Saam as Leeto Maputla. In the hit drama series, he was cast as Meikie Maputla and John Maputla’s older son.

In the wake of his newfound fame, he has been making strides in setting up his business empire, and he has been doing well. However, of late, his age has seen him trending. He is older than we thought. Honestly, who thought Leeto could 35-year-old? The celebrated actor was born on 25 February 1986 in Polokwane, Limpopo, South Africa. He was born and bred in the township of Seshego.

In the turn of over events, his net worth has got Mzansi wondering about his business empire. As of 2021, he has an estimated net worth of R2.5 million. Recently he opened a food outlet, Have Wings, in Vilakazi street. Apart from his fast food outlets, he has business interests in sports and real estate.
