‘I’m tired of being humble’ Nonhle Thema says she will no longer do auditions

Nonhle Thema

She was dupped as the next big thing to Mzansi screens, but her pride led to her fall. Nonhle Thema made all sorts of headlines with her unmatched talent that saw her rubbing shoulders with some of the worlds finest, the likes of Bow Bow and P Diddy and Megan Good.

Undoubtedly, Twitter can ruin one career of years in a blink of an eye. However, in the backdrop of those wins, she saw herself being cancelled because of her arrogance and pride. It only took one tweet for her to fall.

At some point, she was the biggest name when it came to celebrated media personalities even our Bonang and Dlamini were not even in her league. She once hogged the headlines when it was rumoured that she was one of the most paid media personalities in Mzansi.

This happened when she thrust Mzansi into the international limelight with her Nonhle Goes to Hollywood, which was aired on Vuzu and also happened to the show’s co-producer.

However, she was also the face of Channel O and presented several shows, including O-Boma and O-Acess. However, despite all this glory, she was cancelled.

In the backdrop of her cancellation, she lost it all. The bubbly personality saw herself losing gigs and even some of her ambassadorial endorsement deals. It was worse to the extent that she even contemplated committing suicide.

She bounced back with gigs on small screens. She starred in Rhythm City before being cast in Zabalaza as Kgomotso replacing Nolwazi Shange. From there, she has been bagging several supporting roles. In 2020 she made all sorts of headlines when she joined Gomora.

The showrunners pulled a shocker when they confirmed that she joined the Mzansi Magic hit series as Cleopatra Mofokeng.

“She was cast as a 30-year-old sexy and hot con artist operating in Gauteng.”

Well, in the wake of her return to small screens, it seems as if she is nothing but drama. The actress took it to social media to let Mzansi showrunners know that she won’t be coming through for any auditions in South Africa.

She implied that she was now tired of being humble hence she will no longer show up for auditions. Rumour has it that the actress feels like she is good at her job; hence she doesn’t need auditions to secure a gig.

Mzansi did weigh into the matter with its two cents and reminded her of her fall; some even lashed out at her. Mzansi has it that she is now saying this because she is not having any luck when it comes to securing gigs.
