Congratulations on the dashing Lawrence Maleka, as he has been announced as the Big Brother Mzansi Season 3 presenter. The show will premier on the 23rd of January in 2022 on Channels 161 and 179.
Lawrence Maleka’s career
Lawrence is no stranger in the television industry. He first dived into our small screens in 2012, but he became a household name when he became a presenter on the music show Club 808 on eTv replacing Cyprian Ndlovu in 2016. He presented the show alongside Boity Thulo and DJ Capital. Viewers across the country fell in love with his presenting skills, which was his doorway to the entertainment industry.
After his Club 808 gig, he acted on the telenovela IsiBaya where he played Don Webster. Lawrence is currently acting on the hit television series The River as Zolani Dlamini. He proved to be a brilliant actor as his acting has earned him awards.
MultiChoice announced that the show would have heart-wrenching drama and action, promising it would keep viewers glued to their screens. It has been a while since Big Brother Mzansi has been on South Africa’s small screens, and viewers have been anticipating a return.
Lawrence on hosting Big Brother Mzansi
Lawrence expressed his excitement to be presenting on the show. He is happy with the number of viewers Big Brother Mzansi. The gig will earn him more extensive exposure and more fans. Lawrence also recognised the show as a vast franchise that displays South African pop culture.
Katlego Maboe could’ve been the presenter.
When the show was announced to be the presenter, fans suggested that the show hires the flamboyant Katlego Maboe to be the presenter. Still, many brands would rather disassociate themselves from him after his cheating scandal on his wife went viral all over the media. Despite Katlego having a large and loyal fan base, infecting his wife with an STI left him a bad name in the South African television industry. He’s lost his job on Expresso and Outsurance.
